Bus to Arequipa

At about ten minutes past six this morning, a bus picked us up from our hostel. It was a sort of tour bus. We stopped a couple times to look at various sites, but most of the time we didn't get off the bus. The guide just told us what we were looking at, and we took pictures from the window. This lake is actually higher than Lake Titicaca, but it is much smaller and more shallow. We did see flamingos, but again, it was from a bus window, so we didn't get good pictures. We also saw lots of vicuñas, alpacas, and even a couple llamas. The views were really beautiful. There are also several volcanoes in the area, and a couple of them were letting off smoke. Kind of scary.

Once in Arequipa, we walked around briefly to get a few needed items. But it is really got here. We're taking it easy before or super early start tomorrow, when we will head to Colca Canyon to see the condors!
